Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon

The inking has started for my next World Heritage site, Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon, NM. Several years ago I stayed 2 nights, the maximum allowed, at the Chaco Canyon campground. The canyon is remote and houses a series of Anasazi pueblo ruins. Pueblo Bonito, ''beautiful village", is one of the largest with over 650 rooms and 35 circular kivas.
There are many mysteries surrounding the purpose of the buildings and it's inhabitants.

It's also one of the most fascinating archeoastronomy structures I have encountered so far. I will be sharing more about that as the painting progresses.
